Fellow SPS members,
The remainder of the Schenectady Photographic Society’s 2019-20 season’s meetings are cancelled immediately because of concerns about our members’ health regarding the coronavirus. This also includes the Uncommon Grounds exhibit for April, the field trip to Amsterdam Castle on March 28, and the annual awards banquet scheduled for June 10. We have not cancelled the June 6 Luba Rickett seminar or the June 19 night photography workshop; however, those cancellations may occur shortly.
The SPS board is exploring options to hold all or some of the cancelled competitions at a later date, perhaps on-line or at the beginning of next season. Obviously, with the lack of testing data we cannot know how widespread the virus is, nor can we know how long the epidemic may last. Separate communication will be sent regarding returning entries already submitted for the Uncommon Grounds exhibit. We will keep you informed as we decide how to proceed into next season.
