Google Now Lets You Order 4×6 Prints from Your Local Walmart and CVS

Google announced a couple of updates to Google Photos today, including an intriguing new partnership with Walmart and CVS that will allow users to order and pick up 4×6 prints of their photos from over 11,000 U.S. locations. Users will also be able to order wall art directly from Google.

Following hot on the heels of Flickr’s new printing service, Google’s partnership with Walmart and CVS is targeted at regular consumers rather than professional photographers who are using Flickr to get professional-quality prints.

Google’s option is all about convenience and affordability. You can select your location and order prints from right inside the app for the same price that you would get them if you went into your local Walmart ($0.25 per 4×6 print) or CVS ($0.33 per 4×6 print). Photos will be ready to be picked up in as little as an hour.

Here’s a quick overview of the whole process from start to finish, which you can also do on your desktop:

If you want to go bigger, you can now order canvas prints from Google Photos, which will be delivered to your front door. Canvas prints are available in three sizes—8×8 for $20, 11×14 for $30, and 16×20 for $45—and come with either black, white, or wrap-around borders.

As with the 4×6 prints, you can pick your photos, select your size, and pay for your order all from inside the Google Photos app. No word on the quality or resolution of the print, but expect these to be consumer-grade, especially given the affordable price tag.

These two new services launched today, and are already available throughout the US. If you want to learn more about either printing option, head over to the Google Photos Printing website.
